‘It’s not every day. It’s show day!’
And it’s also not everyday that you get to see motorbikes and monster trucks, which was my highlight for this year’s Perth Royal Show.
This was the second Perth show I attended and this year’s show was much more exciting as we got to watch the motorbike show and monster trucks for the first time. There was the fireworks and drone show as well which was my favorite.
We went there on 25th Wednesday so it was less crowded than the weekends. This year we participated in the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ activity where we went to each station scattered through the show ground to collect stamps and freebies like cheese toast, milkshake, keychains etc. It was pretty tiring but because of this we got to cover the entire show and watch (almost) everything because of this.

The cake decoration show and the photography show were great as well. The cakes this year were very realistic and fun. My most favorite cakes were the lobster on the plate and the characters Pua the pig and Hei Hei the Rooster from the movie Moana.
There was an antique display store of objects as one of the show stalls and it was soo cool to see. The oil lamps were my favorite to see as they looked beautiful.
We also saw some horse polocrosse game while waiting for the evening show. This was my first time watching it and even though I couldn’t keep up with the rules it was fun to watch a new sport.
It was soo fun to see the bike stunts and the monster trucks up close, almost at one point it was scary. The performances were definitely a highlight to the night show along with the fireworks and drone show.
The bike show consisted of individual tricks and a final group performance. It was so scary as well as thrilling to watch these stunts for the first time.
The monster truck was just as amazing! Seeing them up close in real life reminded me of the cartoon Blaze and the Monster Machines that I used to watch as a kid with my little sister.
The drone show and fireworks did not disappoint as it was the most extravagant end to the whole event.
